Dance This Mess Around • The B-52's
Last but by no means least comes this final number from the B's 1978 Downtown Cafe performance. I hope everyone has enjoyed these delightful glimpses into the formative work of a great American band. Thank you B-52's for all the great music.

Runnin' Around and Devil In My Car are the two numbers from The B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe show not included on their eponymous debut album but later released on their second album, Wild Planet.

And the hits just keep on coming. Originally the lead number from The B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe performance. As a result of these postings I learned a mutual friend, Jeff Thies, was co-owner of the DC. Thanks for the great music, Jeff!

This is the fourth number from the B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe show. It turns out I'm not the first to post this video on UA-cam. It was copied by someone from the Georgia State University archives and has been sold on eBay for the past five years. I guess we should be flattered that someone thought it good enough to steal. Watch out for the wheel of karma, though.

The third number from a 1978 vintage B-52's performance at the Downtown Cafe in Atlanta. Tom, Gary and I were Georgia State University students working in GSU's CCTV studio. Recorded on a Sony B&W 1/2" reel-to-reel deck.

Another vintage B-52's number from their 1978 show at the Downtown Cafe in Atlanta, GA. Recorded shortly before the release of their first album. Listen to Cindy Wilson growl!

The B-52's perform Rock Lobster at the Downtown Cafe in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978, about a month before the release of their first album.
Was lucky enough to see them do this ,still on my playlist
Never realized I was this old😆
In 1983, when I was 17, I gained full appreciation of this song. I used to blast it and crash down on the floor, screaming and dreaming. I worship that someone captured this set on film and that it was preserved and after almost 30 years, it was put up on this site. Imagine.
Ricky and that guitar!!!!!!
Great
Reminds you of a time when things were normal... and music had melody... and singers wore clothes and had talent... awesomesauce performance
This was 46yrs ago. Great music stands the test of time and this certainly does.
I always wonder what they were thinking when they wrote their songs they're pretty unusual but they're great
That's awesome you got a lively crowd getting their dance on
now thats a cool early B52’s video live.. very cool...
This is serious history. New Wave in full swing by one of the bands that did it right. The other was DEVO
The Good Old Day we had no colored TV No one can't touch that
Sheldon Cooper, & the B-52s!🎵 🦞 🎸🥁 🎹
Cindy 💥❤️🔥
🌖💖🌈⭐️
Cindy has a great voice here - only 21 in 1978
I remember this bitchin new music hit us like a title wave in our feshman year in high school. It woke us up in sleepy, little Newport Beach and we never went back to bed.
i love Cindy Wilson
rock n roll
This is the opposite of Jesus Take The Wheel.😄
What gem!
🎉
LOVE THE B 52`S BUT THIS IS AN ALL TIME FAVE AND THAT IS HARD TO CHOOSE ONE BUT HER VOCOLS SAND THE LYRICS ARE PERFECTUNARY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is aColor version of this video, and it show you can clearly see he didn't string the two middle trsings on his guitar, all their early songs were that way
Ricky wilson had a sense on humor, that song only requires the two upper strings, for the main riff, and the two lower small strings for the solo, so he did string the two middle rings, they were empty 😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰
Heroes falling to the ground / Like Hell's magnet pulls me down
Why do they take so long in between songs.? Its really annoying.
👍🏻❤️
Great “vintage” performance!!!
For the b52 earn the respect from hard core punks they rock the f out
Got the best groove ever shaped my youth
Твори,новое сделай, концерт сделай
Давай твори. Ещё, птж
Чувак, ты гений
One of the best bands ever, totally unique, didn't hear them until 1979, but didn't see them, so jealous of people who saw them in 79/80 totally orgasmic
la chanson préférée d'Omar Sharif
very cool seeing this iconic song and group before "it" all happened. the melodies and structure of this song is genius.
"HERE COMES A BIKINI WHALE!"
By 1978 their sound was already fully made. Great stuff.
Fred! Nobody like him in this era!
Cindy Wilson!
C'est dommage qu'il manque le riff de gratte à la fin car la prestation est exceptionnelle.
it is a pity there is not the guitar riff at the end, it is the key moment of the studio record and it's absent here...
Youuuuu takin me BACK !!! 😆 👍
Getting ready to see them in Las Vegas next week. My Casino asked what they could do for me, a Show or something and I said no, yes, the B52's at the Venetian!
Wow!
So many sexually suggestive euphemisms and innuendo and double meanings... Love it and can relate having had a few herworships myself 😅
